Vintage Mustang "Standard Rear" Disc Brake

by Tony Losey last modified 2008-05-11 02:05

Vintage Venom's "Standard" rear disc brake conversion kit for vintage Mustangs and Cougars is arguably the best value on the market. Don't be fooled by our competitions partial/incomplete Explorer conversion kits or those high priced rear disc brake conversion kits. They simply can't compare with the value of this kit. Our kits fit 8 or 9 inch Ford rear axles with standard (i.e. small) wheel bearings.

Application:  1964 - 1973 Mustang & Cougar

Ohhh Yeaaaa... There is nothing sweeter than 4 wheel disc brakes!!!

Note: These brakes will not work with vintage stock "OE" wheels due to their wheel ID profiles. If you have stock magnum 500's and would like to use them, a 1/2 in. spacer and longer wheel studs are required.

Vintage Venom's Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kits are NEW. They have never been installed. Repeat: These are not re-manufactured or used parts.

$450.00
$48.00 S&H (US)
$498.00 Total

This kit is designed for the small axle bearing tube:

That's right... There is now a small bearing kit available. It is no longer necessary to cut up your axle and weld on big tube ends in order to have this style of rear disc brakes.

How do you determine if this kit is the one you need?

    • Small bearing outside dimension 2.835 in. +/-
    • Large bearing outside dimension 3.15 in. +/-
  2. Flange bolt hole dimensions
    • Small tube flange mounting hols: Vertical dimension 2.00 in. on centers, Horizontal dimension 3.33 in. on centers
    • Large tube flange mounting holes: Vertical dimension 2.00 in. on centers, Horizontal dimension 3.55 in. on centers

What's included in the kit:

  • Anchor bracket assemblies with parking brakes pre-assembled
  • Two new calipers (! not re-manufactured !)
  • Two new VENTED rotors
  • One set of brake pads
  • One set of spacer rings

  • Anchor bracket fasteners (Grade 10.9)
