R14 Rear Big Brake Upgrade:
At the core of the Venom Technologies R14 package are huge 13 3/4" diameter Vented rotors. When these massive rotors are used with small piston Cobra rear calipers optimal brake balance is achieved. All SN95 brakes ranged from 70 to 75% front brake torque with the 70.5% balance of the '94 Cobra being optimal for performance applications. When the R14 is combined with the F14 a perfect 70.9% front balance is achieved. The Cobra rear caliper is also a great choice for solid axle Mustangs due to the integral parking brake mechanism. Solid axle Mustangs are susceptible to caliper piston "knockback" due to the large amounts of end play and deflection inherent in the axle design. With the integral parking brake mechanism of the Cobra caliper, the piston cannot be pushed back, making it a great choice for high performance track applications.
